TERRA WORTMANN OPEN VOLUNTEER PROGRAM

powered by German Volunteers

Welcome to the official website of the TERRA WORTMANN OPEN 2025 volunteer program. We are looking for volunteers to support Germany's largest tennis tournament in various areas. From June 14 to 22, top international players will once again be competing for the title in Halle (Westphalia). With world number one Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev (2021 Olympic champion), Andrey Rublev, Hubert Hurkacz (2022 Halle winner) and Jan-Lennard Struff, five absolutely exceptional athletes have already been confirmed as participants.

MAIN CRITERIA FOR YOUR PARTICIPATION

The TERRA WORTMANN OPEN volunteer program is inclusive and open to everyone! However, there are a few points to bear in mind:

YOUR BENEFITS

WORK AREAS

Accreditation

Players, ATP officials, employees and service providers receive different accreditation depending on their activity. One of your main tasks is to create the badges according to the areas of activity and issue them to the relevant people.

We need volunteers in accreditation not only during the tournament week. To ensure that everything runs smoothly during the event, accreditations are created and issued in the weeks beforehand.

Assembly and dismantling assistants

Together with our technical department, you will be responsible for setting up and dismantling the TERRA WORTMANN OPEN, as well as ensuring that everything runs smoothly. Laying the groundwork in advance is just as much a part of your job as dismantling or daily support during the tournament. The area is diverse with its sub-projects such as power supply, water supply, sound and lighting technology, general set-up/conversion or LED technology on the court - we are happy to welcome experts in one specialist area, but all-round talents are also welcome!

Buffet management

In buffet management, you will support our kitchen teams in the preparation, presentation and serving of food. You can be deployed as a catering volunteer for both staff catering and the buffets in the VIP area.

The working hours vary depending on the area - in the staff catering you will work before, during and after the tournament. The VIP area is only in operation during the tournament week.

Admission control

At admission control, you are the first and last point of contact for our visitors. You will support our security team every day with the entry, re-entry and exit of spectators. You will also help to prepare the entrance area before the site opens. You will ensure smooth and timely admission when scanning tickets and will also be available to answer initial questions.

Reception and service coordination

You will ensure that everything runs smoothly when entering the VIP area and looking after the guests there. You will also support our team in the daily preparation of the VIP area and the tables, as well as the boxes in the arena. Handling tablets to assist with table placement is just as much a problem for you as creating table signs. If you have any questions or problems, you are the first point of contact for our sponsors and VIP guests.

Transportation service

You are part of our team of drivers and are responsible for the safe transportation of players, artists, sponsors, VIPs and their luggage. In addition, you will check daily that the vehicles are in good condition and ensure that this condition is restored if necessary.

Volunteers in the driver/transport area require a valid class B driver's license.

Fanshop

You are part of the sales team at our TERRA WORTMANN OPEN Fanshops and impress with your friendly, open and communicative manner. As a fanshop volunteer, you will be familiar with the range of fan merchandise and advise visitors on their purchases. You also ensure that there are always enough items available and that the merchandise is presented properly.

Gardener

You make sure that the tournament grounds are in top condition: Pruning trees or hedges, mowing the lawn or removing weeds are just some of your tasks. If required, you will also support our greenkeeper team in maintaining and preparing the match and training courts or the set-up and dismantling team.

Guest service in the restaurant area

As a service employee, you will always take guests' requests in a friendly manner and serve the food and drinks they order. You mediate between the team behind the stove and the counter. As a volunteer, you are the perfect member of the service team if you keep calm even in stressful situations and place great value on customer contact and hospitality.

Hostesses

As a hostess, you are a real all-round talent: always friendly and courteous, you help visitors to find their seats and control the boxes, for example. Your tasks also include admission control, checkroom and seat reservations in the VIP area. You will also be responsible for distributing advertising material or selling raffle tickets and handing out prizes.

Information

You are the first point of contact for our guests at the entrance. You know your way around our grounds, the game schedules and the supporting program and can help with problems at any time. Working with Word, Excel and co. is no great challenge for you and you prepare the relevant notices and information material independently.

Logistician

Our logistics team ensures that supplies are replenished before, during and after the tournament week. Whether it's bar trolleys, backstage areas, offices or VIP areas - you make sure that everyone is always well supplied. You will also help set up the site.

Steward

As a steward, you ensure that the game is not disrupted on the pitches and that spectators only take their seats at the designated times. You will also support the hostess team in directing spectators to their seats.

Parcel acceptance slot

You accept parcels before and during the tournament week and make sure they are distributed to the right place. You are a central point of contact for stand operators and tournament staff. You have strong communication skills and are highly organized.

Parking instructions

Together with our security service ADU, you are responsible for the smooth running of our parking lots. You coordinate the opening and closing of the individual parking areas and always keep an eye on the flow of traffic. If you can keep a cool head even in stressful situations and communicate well, you've come to the right place.

Press

As a press volunteer, you will support our employees in the press department, especially during the tournament week. For example, you will ensure that the most important moments of the week are captured in photos or videos and shared promptly on social media. You will also ensure that the press conference room is always tidy and stocked with fresh drinks. You will also be the contact person for national and international media representatives. You are characterized by a high level of reliability and a sense of responsibility.

Service staff

As a service employee in the bar trolley, you provide tournament visitors with alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. You always keep an eye on your orders, even at peak times, and can handle numbers with ease. You are also friendly and not easily flustered.

Player hostesses

As a player hostess, you will work at the Players' Desk or in the Players' Lounge. In the Players' Lounge, you will mainly be responsible for preparing the buffet and clearing and washing dishes and cutlery. You are also the contact person for any questions and problems.

At the Players' Desk, you are responsible for booking training pitches, handing out balls and taking in laundry. You will also coordinate any journeys required and be available to answer any further questions at any time.

A good command of English is a must as a player hostess!

Textile management

In textile management, you are responsible for washing, drying, sorting and folding the tournament towels. You will also distribute the towels to the players' desk, training courts and tournament office and collect dirty towels. As a volunteer in textile management, you are an important part of the background of the TERRA WORTMANN OPEN.

TICKET CENTER

You will sell tickets for the TERRA WORTMANN OPEN on site and on the telephone hotline. As an organisational talent, you will impress with your team spirit, flexibility and reliability and will be able to inform and advise customers conscientiously. You will also take on general office tasks and support the Ticket Centre team on site during the tournament.
