Wortmann AG assumes naming rights for the ATP 500 grass court tennis event in Halle

IT brand TERRA succeeds health care provider Noventi

Tournament Director Ralf Weber: “A partnership benefitting both sides”

Siegbert Wortmann: “Proud to be supporting the tournament as of now and in the future”

HalleWestfalen. Noventi Open will become TERRA WORTMANN OPEN: The 29th edition of Germany’s most important ATP grass court tournament will take place from 11 to 19 June 2022 with a new naming partner. Wortmann AG from Hüllhorst, the biggest independent computer manufacturer in Europe, secured the naming rights with its TERRA brand and signed a respective two-year agreement. Thus, Germany’s most successful hardware brand is the successor of the health care provider Noventi from Munich. “We are very happy to have found a name partner, which comes from the same region and is deeply rooted in this area,” said tournament director Ralf Weber. “It is a logical partnership which is based on the same values and benefits both parties.”

Siegbert Wortmann:  “We are proud to support this prestigious event”

Siegbert Wortmann, CEO of the Wortmann AG explained: “The ATP tournament has been a sports and socially established highlight in East Westphalia-Lippe with a global reputation for almost 30 years. We are proud to be supporting this long-standing event with our commitment now and in the future.” The ATP grass court event has been held since 1993 and in 2015 it was accepted into the ATP 500 category of only 14 tournaments. Thanks to 110,000 visitors yearly, it is Germany’s tennis event with the most spectators, and the matches are also broadcast in more than 150 countries.

A further step in the entrepreneurial cooperation

The acquisition of the naming partnership marks a further step in the entrepreneurial cooperation between the successful IT service provider and the OWL Sport & Event GmbH & Co. KG, i.e. the tournament organiser: since the beginning of this year, the Wortmann family shareholders have been a strong partner of the East Westphalian event arena, as well as of the COURT HOTEL. Furthermore, as one of the 16 regional companies in total, Wortmann AG, which operates Europe-wide, committed to the event venue in Halle back in 2020 within the framework of the OWL ARENA partnership concept. “The event location and especially the tennis tournament itself are excellent beacons of light with international appeal. We do not only support the location of HalleWestfalen with our commitment but also set an example for the entire region,” said Siegbert Wortmann.

Ralf Weber expresses special thanks to NOVENTI

On Wednesday, Tournament Director Ralf Weber also thanked the former naming partner NOVENTI for its cooperation: “The past two and a half years were marked by a trustful cooperation. Due to the last-minute commitment in 2019 and the special circumstances of the Corona pandemic, their cooperation was characterized by special challenges which were always tackled with enthusiasm and a strong personal readiness for action.” Dr. Hermann Sommer, Managing Director of NOVENTI Health SE, also explained: “We are thankful to have been the naming partner of this long-standing sports event. It confirmed: sports and health are a guarantor of success. We wish the tournament a lot of success for the future.”

A world-class level draw

The exclusive draw for the 29th TERRA WORTMANN OPEN already promises top-class sports: the Olympic gold medallist and ATP World Champion Alexander Zverev (ATP 3), US Open champion Daniil Medvedev (ATP 2), as well as the Canadian super talent Felix Auger-Aliassime (ATP 11), Olympic silver medallist Karen Khachanov (ATP 29) and Japan’s ace Kei Nishikori (ATP 47) have already affirmed their participation. “Thus, the sporting and economic course for 2022 has been set and we are looking forward to a special tournament which, thanks to the spectators returning to its stands, will receive its worthy frame,” Ralf Weber said.
