Roger Federer - Record-holder

The record-holding winner at the GERRY WEBER OPEN belongs in the history books of tennis. We will tell you why.

This man chases records and breaks them one after the other. Roger Federer turns all statistics upside down or simply adds a new fascinating chapter. That he is the record-holding champion at the GERRY WEBER OPEN, winning the tournament nine times, speaks for itself. The Tournament victory in Stuttgart was the overall    No. 98 and with this the Swiss gets to the Top of the table, which seemed unthinkeble two years ago. Jimmy Connors has won most Tournaments up till now - winning 109 times. But who knows, the Maestro has perhaps aiming for that score, too.

Here are just a few of his records:

Highest number of victories at Grand-Slam-Tournaments: 20
Highest total of participations in the Finals at Grand-Slam-Tornaments: 30
Highest number of weeks at No. 1: 310
Highest victories in Wimbledon: 8
Highest number of matches won at Grand Slams: 332
Highest number of victories at the Gerry Weber Open: 9
Longest winning-streak on grass: 65
Longest winning-streak on clay: 56
Runner-up record-holder in winning a total of 98 Tournaments (Jimmy Connors won 109)
Highest number at ATP World Tour Finals: 6

Other than that he is the only player who has won three Grand-Slam-Tournaments in one season and the only player to have always reached the finals of a Grand-Slam 14 times consecutively.
