The 33rd TERRA WORTMANN OPEN 2026 in figures

105,500 visitors: 300 more tennis fans than last year (which included a public holiday during the tournament week).

1st victory for an American: The first American winner of the tournament will be crowned in the final. Best result to date: Mardy Fish reached the final in 2004 (0–6, 3–6 against Roger Federer). Other well-known Americans in Halle: Andre Agassi (tournament debut as an ATP event in 1993, with a 500,000 Mark appearance fee, losing in three sets to Carl-Uwe Steeb). Jimmy Connors (June 1995, reaching the quarter-finals aged 43; his second-round victory over Martin Sinner in Halle was his last win on the ATP Tour).

65 million views on Instagram: The tournament was more successful than ever on social media. On Instagram alone, the TWO social media team increased views from 20 million to 60 million over the past 30 days. 18 staff members handled public relations during the tournament week.

Around 900 staff members in total: of these, 545 were on duty at the hotel and arena, 77 as ball boys and girls, and 96 were part of the transport and stewarding teams at the arena. On top of that, there was the security team.

1.6 tonnes of strawberries: During the tournament week, guests in Hall 1 consumed 1.6 tonnes of strawberries (both loose and baked into cakes), one tonne of asparagus, one tonne of roast beef and a tennis court’s worth of cake slices (around 195 m²). Strawberries and asparagus have been supplied by the Große Wächter farm in Verl since the tournament’s inception, whilst catering is provided by the Court Hotel and the Hoch2 agency.

120,000 kilometres in Polestar cars: The 30 staff members in the transport service drove players and guests of honour in cars provided by sponsor Polestar for a total of 120,000 kilometres during the tournament (10–22 June). They were on duty for around 600 journeys.

11 hours of tennis on Centre Court: On the quarter-final Friday, there was non-stop live tennis on Centre Court from 11.30 am to 10.45 pm. More than 1,000 fans cheered on the players during the (unscheduled) night session right up to match point in the match between Frances Tiafoe and Felix Auger-Aliassime. All main draw matches combined offered around 70 hours of live tennis.

22 food and drink stalls: The range of catering options has been expanded once again (up from 16 last year) and offers a wide variety – from bratwurst to antipasti platters or truffle pasta served from a Parmesan wheel.

2,000 new parking spaces: Following feedback from previous years, the organisers have hired additional parking spaces. Although these are situated a little further away from the stadium, a free shuttle service is available. “The new plan, which we developed in collaboration with the police, Gütersloh District and the town of Halle, has been a complete success. There were significantly fewer traffic problems,” says Ralf Weber.

284 medical interventions: The German Red Cross had 18 paramedics on site every day and clocked up 2,305 hours of service during the tournament week. The German Red Cross was supported by four doctors. The medical service provided assistance in 284 cases; five visitors had to be taken to hospital.
