It´s Dreddy Time!

The German-fans' favourite wins in three sets against Vasek Pospisil

 

Dustin Brown was clearly relieved after the match: "I am so glad that I won the match". The 32 year-old was able to defeat Vasek Pospisil in a close duel 6:1, 6:7(3), 7:6(4). After the victory at the GERRY WEBER STADION the German-Jamaican needed a moment to get to grips with himself: "I could have lost that one, too". 

Although he got to a good start, was able to break already in the first game. Brown tried risky balls and came close to the net often, thrilling the audience. The Canadian was able to win only one of his service games in the first set. Brown did better and used his first set point after 21 minutes.  

The second set startet with two double faults by Brown. The break point meant he was two games behind. Both now starting making mistakes, especially Brown was hardly able to get his first serve into the opponents half of the court. The second set got closer. After a break point at 3:3 the German just missed a re-break. At 6:5 gave away five match points, before the Canadian used his first break point and got himself a tiebreak. 

Both players didn't give any of their serves away in the third set. "I concentrated on the service then", Brown said after the match. Brown, nicknamed Dreddy by his fans, this time performing better in the tiebreak and with his first match point after 2.14 h went through to the Round of 16. He will meet Robert Bautista Agut or Carlos Berlocq, who are playing tomorrow.
