A German tennis pro has won the grass tournament at Halle for the first time since 2014. Kevin Krawietz secured the title for himself and his Romanian partner Horia Tecau. They defeated Felix Auger-Aliassime and Hubert Hukarcz 7:6(4), 6:4. While there have been a few German doubles winners in this tournament, it is the first time that a Romanian is listed as a winner.
The serves determined the scene on the Centre Court. There were hardly any break chances. The server was only stopped by – in this case it was Horia Tecau being stopped by – the umpire repairing the net. This was at a score of 3:3 in the second set.
