Zverev/Zverev challenge the Favourites

Three seeded duos and the German Brothers are through to the Doubles-Semifinals

The all-German Doubles Quarterfinals competition have been won by the brothers Mischa and Alexander Zverev. They defeated the German Davis Cup double Tim PÜtz and Jan-Lennard Struff from Halle 6:3, 4:6, 10:3. With this victory they are through to the Semis with three seeded duos. Mischa and Alexander Zverev already showed in the first round that they not only can persist against the German top double team when they defeated the third positioned Aisam-Ui-Haq Qureshi and Jean-Julien Rojer 6:7(7), 7:6(2), 10:8.

The other three seeded duos have not lowered their guard yet. But the top favourites Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo had some trouble in the Quarters. Max Mirnyi and Philipp Oswald were not an easy hurdle, but they were able to get to the Semis 6:7(2), 6:2, 10:4.

Smooth two-set-winners were only got by the No. 2 positioned Nikola Metic and Alexander Peya. In the round of the last eight Dominic Inglot and Franko Skugor didn't stand a chance making it 6:3, 6:3. They will now be challenged by Mischa and Alexander Zverev.

The top-seeded Lukasz Kubot and Marcelo Melo meet Ivan Dodig and Rajeev Ram, seeded No. 4, in the Semis. They defeated Marcel Granollers and Robin Haase 7:5, 7:5.
