Top player Sinner challenged against serve monster Bublik, Zverev meets Struff conqueror Sonego

A full and attractive day of tennis awaits fans on Thursday at the 32nd TERRA WORTMANN OPEN with six singles and two doubles matches. The match between world number one Jannik Sinner, who will face Alexander Bublik (ATP 45), the 2023 tournament winner from Halle, is likely to be the centre of attention. ‘It will be a very exciting and interesting match,’ Sinner promises the spectators. The number one has a high opinion of and great respect for his opponent, against whom he had to retire two years ago in Halle due to injury: "Grass is his favourite surface. If he serves well, it will be brutally difficult to break him." The match is scheduled as the fourth on Centre Court.

Lorenzo Sonego (ATP 46), the second Italian in the main draw, will first try to stop the number two seed Alexander Zverev (ATP 3). Jannik Sinner's doubles partner was convincing in his smooth first-round victory over Jan-Lennard Struff. ‘A complicated player,’ said Alexander Zverev about his opponent Sonego, because "he can cause problems for the good players. But when I have the ball well in my racket, I have confidence in myself."

Felix Auger-Aliassime (Canada/ATP 22) will open the tournament day on Centre Court at 11.30 a.m. against Karen Khachanov (ATP 22), followed by two-time Hall finalist Andrey Rublev (ATP 14), who is the favourite against Tomas Martin Etcheverry (Argentina/ATP 63).
