Four Germans fight for a place in the main draw

Qualifying for the 31st TERRA WORTMANN OPEN begins on Saturday with eight matches

The most prominent participant in qualifying for the 31st TERRA WORTMANN OPEN is Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut. The 36-year-old has already reached the semi-finals in Halle twice (2018 and last year) and the quarter-finals three times (2017, 2019 and 2022). The world number 85 will face Frenchman Pierre-Hugues Herbert (ATP 139) in the first round. The match will be the second match on Court 2 on Saturday.

Court 1 is reserved for three German participants this year. Yannick Hanfmann (ATP 91) will kick things off on Saturday at 11 a.m., playing against Australian Adam Walton (ATP 107). Louis Wessels (ATP 385) and Frenchman Constant Lestienne (ATP 90) will play the second match on the second-largest court in the OWL ARENA. A tough task for the Detmold native, who qualified for the first time last year only to lose to Hanfmann in round one of the main draw. Oscar Otte (ATP 471), who thrilled the spectators at the TERRA WORTMANN OPEN 2022 and made it through to the semi-finals, can then be seen on Court 1. The man from Cologne will play Jakub Mensik (Czech Republic, ATP 79).

Alex Michelsen (USA, ATP 61) and the fourth German qualifier Max Rehberg (ATP 455) will open the tournament on Court 2 at 11 a.m. In match three on Court 2, Aslan Karatsev (ATP 92) and Australian James Duckworth (ATP 101) will duel.

Alexander Shevchenko (Kazakhstan, ATP 59) and Max Purcell (Australia, ATP 100) will play each other on Court 3 from 11 a.m. onwards. Afterwards, Corentin Moutet (France, ATP 56) will try to reach the qualifying final against Valentin Vacherot (Monaco, ATP 112).

The action continues on Sunday with four "finals". The respective winners will then start in the main draw of the 31st TERRA WORTMANN OPEN on Monday. Two doubles qualifying matches will also take place on Saturday. The matches on Court 1 and 2 are scheduled to take place after the end of the singles matches.
