The tournament is very well organized and has really got great tradition“, the 20-year-old said, who was already defeated in the qualifying round of his first appearance at the ATP 500er classic grass tournament in 2019.
The German professional at the most important national tennis competition will be strengthened by local hero Jan-Lennard Struff. The world’s no. 103 from Warstein, received a wildcard from tournament boss Ralf Weber. “I am sure that Jan-Lennard will enter the court with force to shine in front of his home crowd and will ensure real surprises” Weber said. Right on time for the main field the top-seeded Daniil Medvedev will climb to the no. 1 of the ATP-World ranking on Monday. Secret favourite at the 29th tournament is, amongst others, Australian crack Nick Kyrgios (ATP 78).
