Zverev and Sinner in action on Tuesday

The defending champion and two other top ten players also start the tournament

Tuesday at the 31st TERRA WORTMANN OPEN will get the crowd's hearts racing. The two superstars of the tournament will get started on the grass in the OWL Arena. Crowd favourite Alexander Zverev will face compatriot Oscar Otte in the third match on Centre Court (not before 4 p.m.). The latter caused a stir in Halle two years ago when he stormed through to the semi-finals. Germany's number one should therefore be warned.

Before that, the new number one in the tennis world, Italian Jannik Sinner, will start his tournament. In his second match on Centre Court, he will be up against Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor. Sinner will also have to be on his guard, as Griekspoor is regarded as a grass specialist.

Andrey Rublev, top ten player and number 4 seed, will kick off the match at 12 noon in the stadium. He will face the US-American Marcos Giron. In the last match of the day, German Henri Squire, who made it into the main draw via a wild card, will try to cause a minor sensation: his opponent is Stefanos Tsitsipas. The Greek is seeded number 6.

Defending champion Alexander Bublik from Kazakhstan begins his hunt for a second tournament win at the TERRA WORTMANN OPEN in the second match on Court 1 on Tuesday, when he meets Australian qualifier Max Purcell. After that, one of the secret favourites will serve: Italian Matteo Berrettini reached the final at Wimbledon in 2021 and just recently the final in Stuttgart. His first opponent is qualifier Alex Michelsen from the USA.

For Germany's number two Jan-Lennard Struff, the TERRA WORTMANN OPEN begins with a doubles match in the evening. Alongside Griekspoor, he will face the top-seeded Italian doubles team of Simone Bolelli/Andrea Vavassori.
