Andrey Rublev in Halle final again after 2021

6:3, 6:4 victory of the world number seven in the semi-finals against Roberto Bautista Agut

Andrey Rublev has reached the final of the TERRA WORTMANN OPEN for the second time since 2021. The 25-year-old won 6-3, 6-4 against the Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut.

Andrey Rublev was under power right from the start. Even though only a few rallies had been played, he was upset about court errors or his own easy mistakes. You could tell that there was someone on the Centre Court in Halle who wanted to reach the final - and he wanted it badly. With his powerful baseline shots, he put the Spaniard under immense pressure. The Spaniard made more errors than in the quarter-final against the world number three Daniil Medvedev. Roberto Bautista Agut struggled in vain to keep up. Andrey Rublev broke twice to win the set 6-3 after 48 minutes.

In the first two games of the second set, Andrey Rublev apparently took a little break in his concentration. In any case, Roberto Bautista Agut quickly took a 2-0 lead. After that, however, the world number seven was back in full force, winning twelve of the 14 balls played and thus also achieving the rebreak. Power rallies were the order of the day until the end. And at the end of the second set, Andrey Rublev had the better end. While Roberto Bautista Agut could not make use of his break chances, the world number seven managed to do so at 6:4.

"It's always incredibly difficult to play against Roberto. I played well today and I'm looking forward to the final, especially since the crowd is always great.“ , Rublev said.
